The Bastrop Main Street Program is downtown revitalization within the context of historic preservation. Our program focuses efforts on economic development and historic preservation projects in the downtown core of the community. This program is a department within the City of Bastrop with a full-time Director, who reports to the City Manager, and a staff of volunteers.
Our Mission and Vision
The mission of the Bastrop Main Street Program (BMSP) is to serve as a catalyst for the continued revitalization, preservation, and economic health of our historic downtown area through collaboration with other organizations and use of community resources and volunteer insights, talents and energies within the Four Points: organization, design, economic restructuring and promotion.
Bastrop Main Street Program’s vision is the continued preservation and enhancement of our historic downtown area as the prosperous economic and cultural heart of our community.
Bastrop’s Main Street Program area is comprised of 62 blocks centered on the axis of Main & Chestnut Streets.
